Serbia is a country in Europe. Its capital city is Belgrade, the official currency is the Serbian Dinar, and the main language is Serbian.
With a population of roughly 6.7 million people spread over 88,361 kmยฒ, Serbia is the 107th most populous country in the world and the 111th largest by area. That works out at about 76 people per square kilometre.
Serbia shares land borders with Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia โ 7 neighbours in all. Its largest urban centres are Belgrade, Novi Sad and Niลก. The highest point in the country is Midลพor, at 2,169 metres.
For scale, it covers almost exactly the same area as Jordan, while its population is closest to that of Kyrgyzstan.
