Jordan shares land borders with Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Israel and Palestine โ 5 neighbours in all. Its largest urban centres are Amman, Zarqa and Irbid. The highest point in the country is Jabal Umm ad Dami, at 1,854 metres.
For scale, it covers almost exactly the same area as Serbia, while its population is closest to that of Dominican Republic.
