Hungary shares land borders with Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and Austria โ 7 neighbours in all. Its largest urban centres are Budapest, Debrecen and Szeged. The highest point in the country is Kรฉkes, at 1,014 metres.
For scale, it covers almost exactly the same area as Portugal, while its population is closest to that of United Arab Emirates.
