Romania shares land borders with Ukraine, Moldova, Bulgaria, Serbia and Hungary โ€” 5 neighbours in all. Its largest urban centres are Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and Timiศ™oara. The highest point in the country is Moldoveanu Peak, at 2,544 metres.

For scale, it covers almost exactly the same area as Ghana, while its population is closest to that of Kazakhstan.
