Ghana is a country in Africa. Its capital city is Accra, the official currency is the Ghanaian Cedi, and the main language is English.
With a population of roughly 34.1 million people spread over 238,533 km², Ghana is the 47th most populous country in the world and the 80th largest by area. That works out at about 143 people per square kilometre.
Ghana shares land borders with Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Togo — 3 neighbours in all. Its largest urban centres are Accra, Kumasi and Tamale. The highest point in the country is Mount Afadjato, at 885 metres.
For scale, it covers almost exactly the same area as Romania, while its population is closest to that of Mozambique.
