Papua New Guinea shares land borders with Indonesia โ€” its only land neighbour. Its largest urban centres are Port Moresby, Lae and Mount Hagen. The highest point in the country is Mount Wilhelm, at 4,509 metres.

For scale, it covers almost exactly the same area as Sweden, while its population is closest to that of Greece.
