Fiji is a country in Oceania. Its capital city is Suva, the official currency is the Fijian Dollar, and the main language is English.
With a population of roughly 930,000 people spread over 18,274 kmยฒ, Fiji is the 158th most populous country in the world and the 151st largest by area. That works out at about 51 people per square kilometre.
Fiji has no land borders with any other country. Its largest urban centres are Suva, Lautoka and Nadi. The highest point in the country is Mount Tomanivi, at 1,324 metres.
For scale, it covers almost exactly the same area as Kuwait, while its population is closest to that of Comoros.
