Lithuania is a country in Europe. Its capital city is Vilnius, the official currency is the Euro, and the main language is Lithuanian.

With a population of roughly 2.7 million people spread over 65,300 km², Lithuania is the 141st most populous country in the world and the 121st largest by area. That works out at about 41 people per square kilometre.

Lithuania shares land borders with Latvia, Belarus, Poland and Russia — 4 neighbours in all. Its largest urban centres are Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda. The highest point in the country is Aukštojas, at 294 metres.

For scale, it covers almost exactly the same area as Sri Lanka, while its population is closest to that of Botswana.
