Denmark is a country in Europe. Its capital city is Copenhagen, the official currency is the Danish Krone, and the main language is Danish.
With a population of roughly 5.9 million people spread over 43,094 km², Denmark is the 113th most populous country in the world and the 130th largest by area. That works out at about 137 people per square kilometre.
Denmark shares land borders with Germany — its only land neighbour. Its largest urban centres are Copenhagen, Aarhus and Odense. The highest point in the country is Møllehøj, at 171 metres.
For scale, it covers almost exactly the same area as Netherlands, while its population is closest to that of Singapore.
