Tanzania shares land borders with Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, DR Congo, Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique — 8 neighbours in all. Its largest urban centres are Dar es Salaam, Mwanza and Dodoma. The highest point in the country is Mount Kilimanjaro, at 5,895 metres.
For scale, it covers almost exactly the same area as Nigeria, while its population is closest to that of United Kingdom.
