Cuba is a country in North America. Its capital city is Havana, the official currency is the Cuban Peso, and the main language is Spanish.
With a population of roughly 11.2 million people spread over 109,884 km², Cuba is the 84th most populous country in the world and the 104th largest by area. That works out at about 102 people per square kilometre.
Cuba has no land borders with any other country. Its largest urban centres are Havana, Santiago de Cuba and Camagüey. The highest point in the country is Pico Turquino, at 1,974 metres.
For scale, it covers almost exactly the same area as Bulgaria, while its population is closest to that of South Sudan.
