Congo is a country in Africa. Its capital city is Brazzaville, the official currency is the Central African CFA Franc, and the main language is French.
With a population of roughly 6.1 million people spread over 342,000 km², Congo is the 111th most populous country in the world and the 64th largest by area. That works out at about 18 people per square kilometre.
Congo shares land borders with Cameroon, Central African Republic, DR Congo, Angola and Gabon — 5 neighbours in all. Its largest urban centres are Brazzaville, Pointe-Noire and Dolisie. The highest point in the country is Mount Nabemba, at 1,020 metres.
For scale, it covers almost exactly the same area as Finland, while its population is closest to that of Singapore.
