Top Spoken Languages: North America

North America's top languages by native speakers. Type as many as you can before time runs out.

Just start typing — a language is added the moment it's recognised, no need to press Enter. Ranked by native speakers. Below the top four, sources disagree even on which specific Indigenous languages rank highest — this list stops at six rather than forcing a falsely confident top ten.

About Top Spoken Languages: North America

English and Spanish dominate this list, together accounting for the overwhelming majority of the continent's population, from Canada down through Mexico and Central America.

Haitian Creole and French are a distant third and fourth, carried by Haiti and Quebec respectively, ahead of Nahuatl and K'iche' — the two largest Indigenous languages, spoken across central Mexico and the Guatemalan highlands.

This list stops at six rather than ten. Beyond K'iche', a long tail of Mayan and other Indigenous languages are all genuinely spoken by real communities, but sources disagree enough on their relative size that ranking them further would be guesswork dressed up as data.

Scoring

Your score is how many of the 6 languages you name correctly before the 2 minutes run out. Ranked by native speakers. Below the top four, sources disagree even on which specific Indigenous languages rank highest — this list stops at six rather than forcing a falsely confident top ten. Duplicates are ignored rather than counted twice, and stopping early locks in whatever you have found so far.
