About Landlocked Countries: Asia
Asia's twelve landlocked countries are mostly former Soviet Central Asia and its neighbours: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, plus Afghanistan, Mongolia, Nepal, Bhutan, Laos, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Uzbekistan is the world's other doubly landlocked country — every one of its five neighbours is itself landlocked, so its goods cross at least two borders before reaching open water.
Whether Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan actually give Uzbekistan a way out depends on whether the Caspian Sea counts as a sea at all — a genuine, decades-old legal argument, since under the usual reading it is an enclosed lake with no outlet to the ocean.
Scoring
Your score is how many of the 12 landlocked countries you click before you make a mistake. There is no timer and no difficulty to choose — every country in Asia is on screen from the start, and the round ends the instant you click one with a coastline.
